GOV. MATAWALLE URGES WOMEN TO PARTICIPATE MORE IN POLITICS

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle bof Zamfara state has urged Northern Women to participate more actively in politics to address their marginal acquisition of political offices.
Receiving the National President of “Jamiyyar Matan Arewa” Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa in his office recently in Gusau, the state capital, Governor Matawalle wondered how Women always accuse politicians of marginalisation when they are not interested in active participation. 
“Your organisation is said to be non political, but you have to allow and encourage your members to participate actively in politics so that they can acquire recognision and acceptance from the establishment and the electorates”, Governor Matawalle advised his visitors.
He informed that Zamfara state government has taken the issues of Women and girl child education with seriousness.
According to him as part of the efforts carry women along the present government has appointed three Women as Commissioners, six Special Advisers and several Directors-General and Senior Special and Special Assistants respectively.

“For the first time, my administration has appointed 46 Women among the Caretaker Council members across the 14 local government areas of the state” he reemphasized.

K in ending banditry aimed at securing lasting peace for the state was un paralled” she noted.
While commending Gov Matawalle for his unequalled support to Women in the state, she however urged him to expanded opportunity for Women to participate in politics and governance in the state and further not relent in his efforts of making Zamfara safe haven especially for Women and Children
