2023: Coalition groups purchases N50 million form for Gov. Matawalle

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has expressed his appreciation to the coalition of 102 groups under the aegis of “ZAMFARA DECIDES” for taxing themselves to raised the stipulated fee for the purchase of nomination form for his contest of governorship election under the All Progressives Party of the state.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital by the Special Adviser to Governor on Public Enlightement, Media and Communication, Mallam Zailani Bappa stated that, Governor Matawalle who travelled to Umrah about two weeks ago, was greeted on a pleasing news that in his absence, the concerned Zamfara citizens have made up their minds to beat the deadline by purchasing a form on his behalf to ensure that he contested in the forthcoming APC primaries.

“I am touched that Zamfara people will pre-empt my efforts and ensure they draft me into the primaries on their own volition, not my personal interest. Indeed this singular act indicate your position on the efforts we are making to reposition our state onto the path of peace and progress”, Governor Matawalle noted. 

While commending the groups for their support and assistance, Governor Matawalle however assured that his administration will not fail the dear state in whatever the people wish him to do.

“I assured you that i will not fail in my bid to put all the best i can muster for the rejuvenation of Zamfara state” he re-iterated.

Presenting the cheque, the leader of the groups, Barrister Surajo Haske said they took the decision to support Governor Matawalle to participate in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in the state due to the massive efforts employed in the last three years to bring lasting peace to the state and re-position it on the path of solid infrastructural development and economic emancipation.

He thanked the Executive Governor for accepting the gesture and further assured to give him all the necessary support for him to worn the election with ease in the state.

It will be recalled that a coalition of groups under the aegis of “ZAMFARA DECIDES” in the state announced  its intention to draft Governor Matawalle into re-contesting the Governorship  position for a second term. 

The group fulfilled their promised with presentation of N50 million  cheque to Governor Matawalle which was received  by the Acting Governor, Senator Hassan Mohammed Nasiha Gusau.

In an efforts to support the re-election of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state, about 102 group and organisations based in Zamfara state have donated N50 million for the purchase of his 2023 APC Governorship nomination form.

In a press statement issued to newsmen in Gusau by the state APC Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau and made available to our reporter stated that the state Secretariat invited all party members, supporters, and admirers to the formal presentation of the N50million cheque to His Excellency, the Executive Governor Dr, Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun in a ceremony scheduled to hold on Friday,8th, May 2022.

The statement therefore called on all affected group and organisations to gather at the Gusau Eid Playing Ground by 8:00am tomorrow Friday 6/05/2022 for the onward movement to Government House for the official presentation of the cheque to Governor Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun.

While commending the APC members in the state for their donations for the purchase of nomination form for Governor Matawalle re-election comes 2023, Mallam Yusuf Idris however explained that, the APC under the leadership of Hon.Tukur Umar Danfulani has expressed gratitude to Allah and good people of the state for showing of love and support to the party and Matawalle – led administration in the state urged them to keep it up.

Eld-fitr: Zamfara first lady felicitates with Muslims, urges for prayers

Zamfara state first lady and wife of the Executive Governor, Hajia Aisha Bello Muhammad Matawalle has congratulates the entire Muslims for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan.

In a statement issued to newsmen by the Press Secretatary, Office of the first lady, Hajia Zainab Shuaibu Abddullahi in Gusau, the state capital quote the first “lady felicitating with Muslims in Zamfara state over this year’s Eld – fitr celebrations further called on them to sustain prayers for peace and stability in the state and nation at large.

Hajiya Aisha Matawalle expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for witnessing another this blissful event.

“I wish to extend my hearty felicitation to Muslim Umma all over the world especially Nigerian and Zamfara state in particular for witnessing this year’s Eid-El-Fitri celebration” she. re-iterated.

She however urged Muslims in the to continue to uphold  the tenets of Islam and teaching of our beloved prophet Muhammad (SAW) even after the holy month of Ramadan.

“Let us use this period to continue to pray for our dear state and the country in general for the sustainance of peace, stability, unity and progress” the first lady further advised. 

While congratulating the entire Muslims for successful completion of the 30 days ibadat, the Wife of the Executive Governor however appealled to Muslims to always imbibe on the spirit of love, tolerance and understanding and further remain steadfast to the cause of fight against crime and insecurity, as well, rededicate themselves to pray for state and Nigeria for the unity, peace and progress .

As Muslims all over the world end this year’s Ramadan, Muslims in the state have been urged to re-dedicate their supplication to the Almighty Allah for a more peaceful Zamafara state.

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state made the call while felicitating with the entire muslims over this year’s Eld- fitr celebrations and urged them to remember the bounties of Allah who saw us through the holy month of Ramadhan.

Matawalle who was in Saudi Arabia for a lesser Hajj in a statement sent to congratulate message to the people of the state stated that, eid-el-fitr marks the end of an important month in the lives of all Muslims as it marks the special period of mercy from Almighty Allah to all his servants urged Muslins to seek for this special mercy from our Creator.

“As we celebrate the end of this year’s holy month, and as we have sought in our various prayers throughout this month for Allah’s mercy, we should not relent in our re-dedication to good deeds and shun evil deeds in our day-to -day conduct as Muslims”, Governor Matawalle advised.

According to him, his administration has noted the special prayers offered for enduring peace in the state, both within and outside the country, and urged all and sundry to always put the interest of the state first and pursue their quest within the orbit of the law.

“We are indeed living in trying times. But nothing surpasses the power of God and He asked us to pray to him and He will grant us. We have all used this period of fasting to pray fervently to the Almighty God. What remains for us is to uphold the good virtues we have imbibed during this period in order to keep our society safe and free from troubles” Governor Matawalle further noted.

While commending the entire Muslims for prayers for peace to reign in the state and nation at large governor Matawalle further assured his administration commitments to continue to uphold the principle of justice and fairplay as much as the pursuit for the best practices that will bring and end to our trials in all spheres of life which include security, economy, social and political.

ZMSG impeached two emirs, district head over land abuses

Zamfara state Government has impeached two emirs and one district head over insecurity and abused of lands in their respective areas.

Those impeached are the Emir of Zurmi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Emir of Dansadau, His Royal Highness,  Alhaji Hussaini Umar and that of District Head of Birnin Tsaba, Alhaji Sulaiman Ibrahim Danyabi has also been releaved of his appointment.

Briefing newsmen at the end of the meeting held at the Council Chamber, Government House Gusau, the state Commissioner of Informationin, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara revealled that, the impeachment of the two emirs and a district head follows a decision taken at the State Executive Council meeting chaired by the Acting Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Hassan Mohammed Nasiha Gusau.

“the Council upheld the recommendations of a six man White Paper Committee set up by the Government to review the report of two separate committees earlier set up to investigate the involvement of the three traditional rulers in the activities of banditry in the state” the Commissioner stated.

According to him the three impeached royal fathers were earlier suspended by the state Government following wide allegations of serious involvement in the act of banditry in their respective areas of the state.

Hon. Dosara however stated that in addition to the security challenges the findings of the committees also revealed abuse of land act in their domain and government with immediate effect ordered the reversal to status quo involving the lands illegally allocated.

Hon. Dosara distributes Ramadan welfare packages worth N8. million to pple. of Maradun

Zamfara state Commisioner of Information, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara has distributed food items, clothes and cash worth N8.million as Ramadan welfare package to 1000 beneficiaries in Maradun local government area.

Speaking during the official flag-off of the exercise in Maradun town, Hon. Ibrahim Dosara said the gesture which is part of Ibrahim Dosara foundation in support of Belmat 2023 is to be shared among the APC ward executives, elders , youths ,women, people with special needs as well as social media Handlers across the 10 Wards of the local government area. 

Some of the food items distributed to the beneficiaries across the local government area according to the Commissioner includes, bags of rice, maize, millet sugar, clothes and cash respectively.

” I believed that the state government deserves to be assisted in this direction taking into cognisance the direct deductions from the our monthly federation account allocation of over N1.9 billion of dubious standing order inherited by this administration from the immediate past regime of Governor Abdullaziz Yari Abubakar” he informed.

While commending the good people of Maradun and it’s evrons for their untiring support to the present administration of governor Bello Matawalle, Hon. Ibrahim Dosara further stated that in addition to the food items distributed, his foundation has also provided N1.2 million as logistic cost to all the 10 wards of the local government area so that nobody will be deprive of his or her rightful share .

He however thanked politicians in the state for the kind assistance rendering to the less privilleage in their respective areas by complementing the efforts of the state government during this Ramadan period and urged well do individuals and top government official to emulate them. 

Earliar speaking, Speaker, Zamfara state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya who was represented by the deputy House leader, Hon. Nasiru Bello Bungudu during the distribution exercise cherished the charismatic efforts of the state commissioner of information and Chairman, Ibrahim Magaji Dosara foundation in support of Belmat 2023 for distributing Ramadan welfare package to the people of his community for them to fast with relative ease. 

” I challenged the so called oppositions in the state who earlier announced traillers of food items as their Ramadan welfare scheme to come out and show to the world when and where their Ramadan Welfare gift is being distributed in the entire land mass of Zamfara state” Hon. Bungudu called.

While commending the efforts of the Hon.Commissioner for the gesture, the deputy leader further called on all APC supporters in the state to be focused, united and always supportive of the laudable initiatives and programmes of the present Administration of Governor Bello Muhammad MON (Matawallen Maradun) and disregard those fake politicians that never mean well to them and the state in general in the last eight years of their misrule .

In their separate remarks both Maradun local government APC Chairman, Alhaji Yakubu Gado and Maradun local government Sole Administrator, Hon. Ummaru Mu’azu Faru commended Ibrahim Magaji Dosara for donating generously to the people of the Area describing the gesture as timely .

Gov. Bagudu commends Minister Malami for distributing Ramadan welfare to people in Kebbi

Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has commended, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, for distributing grains as palliatives to people of the state in the Holy month of Ramadan.

Announcing the gesture aimed at serving as Ramadan palliatives and geared towards bringing down the prices of grains in the state in Birnin Kebbi Governor Bagudu said his government has also procured thirty five thousand bags of assorted grains for distribution to people in all the 24 local government areas of the state.

Governor Bagudu who was represented by the Secretary to the state Government,  Hon. Babale Umar Yauri requested wealthy individuals, public office holders and elected leaders to sustain assistance to the less privileged in the society at all times.
Highlighting on the achievements recorded Governor Bagudu said his administration has maintained constant material and financial support to the people of Kebbi state since assumption of power in 2015 and further mentioned that Kebbi state government has paid gratuity to retired civil servants up to 2020, while processes were ongoing to settle those who disengaged from service.

In his address, the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami SAN, said there has been an increase of food items to be shared among beneficiaries as Ramadan palliatives for the present fasting period.

The minister explained that the gestue was aimed at bringing succor to the populace and uplifting their living condition especially in this period of Ramadan which symbolized self-denial. He urged those involved in the distribution of the items to be God-fearing by ensuring that the donated materials reached the target recipients.

Alhaji Abubakar Malami requested Nigerians to intensify prayers for God’s intervention in this Ramadan season towards surmounting social, economic and security challenges facing the nation.

He however thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State and the APC for striving to better the lives of the masses through various support programmes and intervention schemes.

He enumerated significant number of diversified material and financial assistance on education, agriculture, healthcare, entrepreneurship, women and youth empowerment provided to the people of Kebbi state by Khadi Malami Foundation and Khadimiyya for Justice and Development Initiative.

Isah Mungadi explained that over 16,000 thousand bags of assorted grains including rice have been provided by the Minister for distribution across the state with emphasis to the less previleged.

He quoted verses of the Holy  Qur’an to buttress his plea for compassion, care and assistance to the needy in the society particularly in this holy month of Ramadan.

Dep. Gov. distributes Ramadan welfare to orphans, less privilleage in Zamfara

Over 400, 000 Orphans and less privilleage across the 17 emirates council in Zamfara state have benefited from the state government this year’s Ramadan welfare packages.

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state made this known while flagging off the distributions of this year’s Ramadan welfare packages to orphans and less privilleage at Zakkat and Endowment Board  premises, along  bye Pass road Gusau, the state capital.

Matawalle who was represented at the ceremony by his deputy, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha said the state government has procured food items, clothing materials and cash worth N800 million for distributions to Orphans and less privilleage as Ramadan welfare across the state.

Senator Hassan Muhammad while commending the efforts of the management of Zakkat Board for their well coordinated Programme of the distribution exercise further informed that the state government’s annual gesture is aimed at improving the living conditions of the less privileged ones especially orphans in the society.

“it also geared towards boosting orphanages morale and enhancing their sense of belonging for them to adjust to useful ventures that enable them fit in well in the society” he added.

He again described the measures taken by the Chairman of the board, Sheikh Mallam Abubakar Sodangi Gusau for careful taken in validation of authentic beneficiaries from the 17 emirates in the state as commendable and called on well to do individuals and groups to emulate the state Government’s efforts of assisting less privilleage and orphans especially in this Holy month of Ramadan.

The Deputy Governor however, directed all emirs, local government Sole Administrators and other key stakeholders to ensure justice in the course of the distributions of the items as monitoring and feedback mechanisms were already put in place by the government at all levels.

Speaking earlier, the Executive Chairman  Zakkat and Endowment Board, Shiekh Mallam Abubakar Sodangi Gusau,  thanked the state Government for giving the board free hands to perform its official responsibilities. 

“all that is required by the board for the success of this year’s disbursement is timely approved by Governor Dr, Bello Muhammad Matawallen Maradun” Mallam Sodangi informed..

He re-iterated his office commitments in supporting not only on their mandate on zakkat and endowment activities but with all other government policies and programmes.

Zamfara first lady distributes Ramadan welfare to women, less privilleage

Wife of the Executive Governor and first lady of Zamfara state, Hajiya Aisha Bello Muhammed says, over 10,000 women and less privilleage in each of the 14 local government areas will benefits from this year’s ramadan welfare package across the state.

Presenting the items to the beneficieries during the flagging off exercise held in Gusau, the first lady said the gesture aimed at assisting less previleged and women headed households, orphans and widows to enjoy ramadan fast is initiated by her office.

The first lady who was represented by the Special Adviser, Office of the First lady, Hajia Fatima Musa during the flagging off excercise stated that, the welfare packages distributed by the office of the first lady includes, bags of rice, millet, suger and cartoons of macaroni respectively.

“I am happy to be here with you today and to witnessed another distributions of ramadan welfare package as one of the intervention programmes initiated by my office to promote welfare and improved the living standard of the vulnerable groups in the state” she reiterated.

While appealling to muslims to use Ramadan period to offer special prayers for Allah’s intervention to provide lasting solutions to security challenges facing the state and Nigeria in general, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle however urged beneficiaries to ensure judicious utilization of the items by feeding their families.

Speaking earliar, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Women and Children Affairs, Hajiya Barira Bagobiri described the gesture as a timely and welcome development.

According to her, the First lady deserved commendations considering her various programmes that are inline with the policy of the present administration for uplifting lives of women and less privilleage across the state.

Hajia Barira pray for Allah’s rewards to the First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bello Muhammed for providing the succour to the the less privileged women and their families and assured women commitment in supporting all government Programme and policies in the state.

Gov. Matawalle distributes 260 cars to tradtional rulers, commissions Council of Ulamas headquarters

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has distributed 260 cars to traditioanal rulers in the state, commissioned Council of Ulamas headquarters in Gusau.

Speaking during the official presenting of the vehicles to the beneficiaries at Government House Gusau, Governor Matawalle said the gesture was done in recognition of the status of the traditional institutions as the custodians of religion and culture and vehicle of cohesion and peace in the societies.

“It is in view of the high esteem within which my administration regards our traditional leaders and institutions that we decided to procure brand new cars, Cadillac 2019 Model, for 17 emirs, 13 Senior District Heads and 230 District Heads across the state”, the Governor Matawalle revealed. 

Governor Matawalle further assured that his administration will continue to work with traditional and religious leaders to ensure lasting peace and harmony in the state.

While reiterating his administration commitments to continue to work in line with the mission of uplifting the dignity and sanctity of traditional institutions through all possible means, Governor Matawalle however informed that his government is currently rehabilitating and reconstructing some of the emir Palaces across the state.

Earliar speaking during the distribution and commissioning of the Ultra Modern Secretariat of the Council of Ulamas headquarters the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa,ad  Abubakar III expressed his gratitude to Governor Matawalle for his concern on the welfare of the two important institutions which still remain the thread that holds our society together.

The Sultan called on the beneficiaries of the gesture to continue in their support to the administration of Governor Matawalle by rendering their best in ending the challenges facing the people.
