Gov. Matawalle hosts state legislative, Judiciaries to Ramadan breakfast

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state tasked members of the state House of Assembly and Judicial officers to evolve more ways of restoring the lost glory of the state.

Speaking after hosting them for a Ramadan breakfast at his residence in Gusau, Governor Matawalle described the services of the two arms of government as paramount in all ramifications to ensure peace and development of the state.

“My administration will continue to work with you in order to achieve the set objectives” he stated.

Governor Matawalle who tasked Judges to ensure quick dispensation of justice further informed them that Zamfara state is in critical situation, that needs for the legislature and judiciary to do more, especially ensuring that justice prevails in law making processes.

He expressed appreciation with the support and cooperation he is receiving from the state House of Assembly and the Judicial arm in the state, and pray that the magnitude will be maintained.

Earlier in his address, Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly,  Rt Hon. Nasiru Muazu Magarya, who spoke on behalf of the two arms of government thanked Governor Matawalle for his unflinching support in moving the state to an enviable position even with the current security challenges facing it.

Speaker Nasiru Muazu Magarya assured for the continued support and cooperation of the two Arms of Government to the Governor for the attainment of the desired objectives.

The Ramadan Breakfast was attended by the state Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, Chief Judge, Justice Kulu Aliyu, Grand Khadi, Alhaji Dahiru Muhammad Gusau, Secretary to the state Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Chief of Staff Government House, Gusau, Malam Ibrahim Suleiman, Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gayari and some members of the state Executive Council.

ZMSG spents N1.8 billion for the 2022 Ramadan feeding/welfare

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state says his government has expanded over N1.8 billion naira for the procurement and distributions of food items to categories of people for this year’s Ramadan feeding across the state.

Speaking to newsmen at Government House Gusau, Governor Matawalle said, as usual his administration remain committed in bringing relief to the citizens of the state, that is why this year government decided to double its effort in supporting the lives of the people of the state during the month of Ramadan.

Highlighting on how the money was expanded, Governor Matawalle explained that, about 125,701 bags of assorted food items including, 21,083 bags of rice, 1,076 bags of beans, 6,991 bags of maize, 10,491 bags of millet, 14,264 bags of sugar, 22,590 gallons of cooking oil and 9,206 cartons of milk were procured in addition to the 40, 000, number of clothes provided for distribution to the less privilleage people across the state.

He explained that already government has made all the necessary arrangements for the commencement of Ramadan feeding in all the Jumu’at mosques across the 14 local government areas of the state.

According to him, the usual Ramadan feeding in all the designated 2,526 polling units across the state will proceed adding that, already government had met with all the Jumu’at prayer mosque Imams and modalities for the commencement of the feeding has been set up.

“We will used the previous experience in the distribution of this year’s Ramadan gesture; hence the government will not allow anyone to found wanting in the exercise” he emphasised.

While commending the people of the state for their support to the present administration, governor Matawalle however urged muslims ummah to take the lessons of Ramadan in praying for God almighty to bring solutions to the multiple problems confronting the entire northern Nigeria.

Zamfara Dep. Gov. donates 140 chairs/tables to GDSS Gusau

Zamfara state Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau has donated 140 double seaters and tables to Government Day Secondry School Millennium Quarters Gusau.

Presenting the items to the management of the school, Senator Hassan who represented by his aid, Malam Abubakar Lawali Gusau said, the gesture was his personal donations to  complement the state government’s efforts towards enhancing educational sector of the economy.

“during the unscheduled inspection exercise of some government agencies held on Thursday last week, the deputy governor had visited the school and was warmly welcomed by the staff and students. He was taken round the school where he saw for himself the deplorable conditions in which learning-teaching activities are running in the school, as there were no chairs for students and in some classrooms, no provision for blackboard, indeed no single chair or table in the female staff room” he observed.

As part of the measure to addressed the problem, the Deputy Governor however, assured the school authority of his personai contributions of chairs and tables to ease the sufferings of both students and teachers in the school.    

While assuring the school management of government committement in developing educational sector in the state, the Deputy Governor further announced the donations of additional 540 exercise books and 50 copies of the Glorious Qur’an to the students of the college.

He similarly directed the State Universal Basic Education Board to ensure quick drilling of a motorized borehole in the school for it to have adequate water supplly.

Speaking while receiving the donation, the Zamfara state Commissioner of Education, Hajiya Zainab Lawal Gummi, represented by her Permanent Secretary Alhaji Kabiru Attahiru, thanked the Deputy Governor for the kind gesture and promised him of the ministry’s commitment to utilising the materials effectively and called on all other well-meaning individuals in the state to emulate the deputy governor in that direction.

Gov. Matawalle task Chief Imams on Security

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has task Ulamas and religious group to do more in addressing the existing security situation in Zamfara state and the country as a whole.

Speaking during an official meeting with the Chief Imams of Jumma’at Mosques across the state at the Government House Gusau, Governor Matawalle said Zamfara state is in a critical situation where only fervent and genuine supplications to the Almighty will alleviate the current security situation.

” It is unfortunate that the state has degenerated to a situation we are in today”, Matawalle added.

He noted that, the kind of vices that are taking place by wayward persons in this state is alarming and indeed, call for sober reflection. 

While commending the Chief Imams for their support to all government Programme and policies in the state, governor Matawalle however enjoined them to use this special month of Ramadhan to supplicate to the Almighty for the alleviation if these vices.

In their responses, the Chief Imams commended the Governor for his efforts at ending the insecurity challenges in the state and promised to do more in their individual and collective capacities as religious leaders of the people.

Zamfara Dep. Gov. Commissions Kagara General Hospital

Contract awarded for the expansion and remodelling of the Kagara General Hospital in Talata Mafara Local Government area has been completed and commissioned by the Zamfara state government.

Speaking during the commissioning of the project the Zamfara state Governor who was represented by the deputy governor, Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau at the occasion said, the state government initiated the project to transform the health facilities of the hospital aimed at reducing maternal and infant mortality rate so as to achieving universal healthcare services delivery across the state.

Senator Hassan Nasiha said the project which covered the cost of construction of new theatre, laboratories, maternity and general modification of the hospital’s existing structures has cost the state government the sum of over (N540.m) Five hundred and forty million naira  respectively

“this is one of the project executed by the present administration in different parts of the state aimed at deploying of a quality and affordable healthcare services to the teeming populace especially at the grassroot” he emphasised.

While commending the contractor for doing a good job, Senator Hassan Nasiha further called on the management of the hospital and relevant agencies to ensure the application and appropriate maintainance culture for sustainability of the project for the efficient health care services delivery in Kagara and its environs.

The handing over ceremony which was attended by the benefiting communities in the area had also witnessed the present of the  Secretary to Zamfara State Government, Hon. Kabiru Balarabe (SardaunanDan Isa), Head of Service, Chief of Staff, Government House, Commissioner of Police Brigade Commander, Emir of Mafara, HRH. Alhaji Dr Bello Muhammad Barmo and many others.

Zamfara Deputy Gov. Visits Gusau Water Board, call for workers punctuality

As part of his efforts to monitor the activities of MDA,s, in the state, the Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau has paid an unsheduled visit to the state Water Board Gusau, Zamfara state.

Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Governor said,  the state government under the leadership of Governor Bello Matawallen Maradun will not relent its efforts in ensuring workers’ punctuality to duty, extra vigilance on public facilities, and sensitivity to the trust and confidence vested in them and further expressed government’s commitment to to improve the services of the Water Board as one of the essential service MDAs.

Senator Hassan Nasiha added that,  such, impromptu visit of this nature is aimed at ascertaining public-oriented operations and service delivery in key areas of adequacy and consistency in the supply of portable water.

The Deputy Governor later led an inspection visit to Gusau Water Barrage along Dansadau road and Koramar Wanke main barrage which are the sources of water supply to Gusau, the state capital and it’s environs.

While inspecting the operational machineries at the barrages, the deputy governor reacted over a water-pumping machine that was grounded for quite a long period of time and directed for its immediate repairs and ensure full clearance of any other technical fault that may obstrct steady supply of water to the public.

Senator Hassan Muhammad Gusau called on the general public to exercise patience as the government is doing its best to address the water shortage in Gusau and it’s environs.

Speaking earlier, the Managing Director, Zamfara state Water Board, Engr. Buhari Salisu Dosara thanked the Deputy Governor for the visit and further commended the state government for addressing sensitive issues that requires urgent attention, and reassured to live up to expectations.

RUWATSAN partner with NGO,s to improve it’s services in Zamfara

Zamfara State Rural Water and Senitation Agancy (RUWATSAN) has assured their reddness in partnership with any organization that will add more values to their primaries responsibility in the state.

The program Manager (PM) of the agency, Alhaji Sani Yaro Gurbin Baure made this known when he received members of the Zamfara State Wash Reporters Forum who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

Sani Yaro explained that, WASH programm is  a collective responsibility that need collective approach and intervention, which publicity has a very vital role and will help in achieving the  desire result.

“We are very happy to have this Forum, that  been designed purposely to promote the achievements in washing, Water Senitation and hygen”, he said.

Highlighting on the activities of the agency the program Manager informed the that, the agency was created with a view to provide access to drinking water senitation and to stop open defecation.

He however commended members of the forum for organizing them self to assist the state government in educating and sensitazation on WASH, Open Defecation and hygiene to general public across the state.

Early in his speech, the Chairman of the  forum, Malan Ishaq Zaki Tambuwal explained that, the  forum members comprises of media practitioners from both electronic and print media are working to promote water supply, sanitation and hygiene in the state.

The Chairman said, the essence of the  visit is to intimate the management team of  the of the agency it’s mandate and to seek for maximum cooperation as custodian of WASH sector in the state.

“You know journalists as fourth estate of the realm, we have the responsibility to educate, inform and enlighten the general public on any issue that will  promote development in their  society”, he added.

Isaq  further stated that, the forum is a voluntary initiative aimed to educate members of the general public through sensitisation and awareness creation on the importance of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)as well as other related issues.

According to him, Zamfara state like any other state is facing some environmental challenges that need urgent attention and awareness which includes, open defecation, improper description of waste, hygiene which lead to lead poisoning in minning communities that has claimed many lives of human in Anka and Bukkuyum local governments

ZMSG presentes new Siena 8 seaters Vehicle, office furniture to Gold City FM Radio, Gusau

Zamfara state Government has presented a brand new Siena 8 seaters Vehicle to the management of Hold City FM Radio Gusau as part of the efforts to improve the station service delivery in the state.

Presenting the key of the vehicle and modern office equipments to the Commissioner of Information, Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Dosara, the Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Nasiha said the gesture was part of the state government determination ease transportation problem and other major challenges facing by the media organisation.

Senator Hassan Muhammad while presenting the brand new vehicle and modern office facilities to the Honourable Commissioner of Information Ibrahim Magaji Dosara said he decided to support the Gold City FM Radio with an operational vehicle and other office accessories for documentation purposes.

While calling on the management to utilise the properties effectively, the deputy governor further solicited for cooperation of the staffers of the station recognize the gesture and for promote peace in the state.

Responding on behalf of the Management of Gold City FM, the Commissioner of Information, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara thanked the state government and Deputy Governor for his focus in assisting the baby station in that direction, hoping that the gesture will now help the staff to compete with other sister stations in the State.

Hon. Dosara while thanking Senator Hassan once again for the kind gesture to the station also promised the proper utilisation and maintenance and efficient sustainability of the facilities and further thanks the APC Chairman Rawayya/ Bela Ward  for cash donation of One hundred thousand naira (N100,000.00) to the station for fueling the vehicle.


At the end of the presentation, the General Manager, Gold City FM, Engr Sani Aliyu Abdullahi Gusau has presented a brand new Wall Clock to the  Deputy Governor as a sourvenir.

Anka emirate confer the title of “Turakin Zamfara” to Hon. Yazid Danfulani

Emir of Anka and Chairman, Zamfara state Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad CON has conferred a traditional title of TURAKIN Zamfara to Hon. Yazid Shehu Danfulani, Zamfara state Commissioner for Commerce and Industries.

This was contained in a letter of the appointment signed by the Secretary of Anka Emirates Council, Muhammad Dodo and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.

The Secretary of the emirate, said Hon. Yazid Danfulani deserved the tittle of Turakin Zamfara, considering his good characters, service to humanity and above all his humanitarian gestures to less privilleage across the state.

While congratulating him for the appointment, the statement further advised the appointee to continue to law abiding to the emirate and entire people of the state.

The new Turakin Zamfara, Hon. Yazid who is currently, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industries in Zamfara state was born in Gusau from the family of a business mogul, Alhaji Shehu Danfulani Mai Doya 1986 also obtained both Islamic and Western education at home and abroad.

In his response, the new TURAKIN ZAMFARA Hon. Yazid Danfulani thanks His Royal Highness, the Emir of Anka and Chairman Zamfara state Council of Chiefs and entire council members of Anka Emirates for finding Yazid worthy of this tittle.

He assured that, the new tittle confer on him would be a moral boaster in redoubling his efforts towards rendering more humanitarian services to humanity and committed in seeing a better society that can afford to live healthy and affordably to cater their diarly needs
