Zamfara Government procured 70 trucks of fertilizer for sales to farmers at N7,000.00 per bag

Zamfara state government said an audio clip in circulation on social media platforms allegedly claiming government directives on local Government councils and traditional rulers to sale fertilizer to farmers in the state at N12,000.00 per bag is false and untrue.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, the Zamfara state Commissioner of Information, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara described the content of the clip as  baseless, unfounded and balatant lie attempt to smear the good image and reputation of the government of His Excellency Governor Bello Mohamed Matawallen Maradun.

Highlighting on the true of the matter, the  Commissioner of Information said Zamfara  state government has purchased 70 trucks of fertilizer for this year’s farming season and ordered for immediate the sales of the products to both small and large scales farmers across the state at the cost of N7,000.00  naira per bag as part of state government subsidy to the farmers. 

” I call on you to disregards the information in the clip and anybody found involved in this scam will be  dealt with, in accordance to rules of law” he reiterated.

Hon. Dosara said the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle is doing everything possible to help farmers in the state to ensure bumper harvest of food and cash crops in all the nooks and crannies as part of the efforts  to ensure food security in the state.

He advised the general public to report anybody found sabotaging the government efforts in this direction.

Zamfara new CP Ayuba Elkana assumes duty

NewCommissioner of Police deployed to Zamfara state  Police Command, Mr Ayuba Elkana has since assumed duty.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Zamfara state Police Command, SP Muhammad Shehu.

The statement said, Mr Ayuba Elkana, an indigene of Gombe state took over from CP Hussaini Rabiu who was redeployed to Imo State Police Command is the 31st Commissioner of Police in Zamafara state.

Highlighting the briefed biography of the  newly posted CP the statement further stated that, Mr Ayuba Elkana was born on 11th August, 1962 in Gombe state and attended both primary and secondary schools in Gombe State.

He graduated from the University of Maiduguri in Borno state where he  obtained Bsc. Geography in 1985 and did his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) in 1986.

The statement added that Elkana was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 3rd March ,1990 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) where he was professionally trained at the Prestigious Police Academy Kaduna Annex.

After Completion his training the statement further stated that, Mr Elkana was posted to Cross River State Police Command where he undergoes a one year compulsory attachment for Cadet Officers, and later served in various Police commands and formations across the country.

“When Promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police, Elkana was posted to the Force Headquarters Abuja as CP Force Provost Marshal,  the position he was before his redeployment to Zamfara state as the 31st Commissioner of Police”, the statement added.

Addressing the senior Officers of the command, the new CP urged them to be more alive in their responsibilities and ensure discipline and professional conduct in their respective departments so that effective Police Service delivery can be Provided to members of the Public.

While reminding them of the transformation and repositioning agenda of the Inspector General of police, Mr Usman Alkali CP Elkana further  called on them to redouble their commitment and hard working in order to actualise the agenda.

He appealled to members of the general public to improve and sustain the already existing synergy with all the security agencies especially the Police in an effort to rid the state of activities of criminals.

Gov. Matawalle condoles Sen. Tijjani Yahaya Kaura over the death of his elder brother

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has described the death of Muhammad Maibiredi Kaura, an elder brother to former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Tijjani Yahaya (Tafidan Kaura) as a monumental loss to Zamfara state and Nigeria considering his contributions to the development of the state and humanity in general.

Condolling the Senator at his residence in Abuja, Governor Bello Matawalle described  late Muhammad Maibiredi Kaura as a great, honest and philanthropic gentleman who contributed immensely for  the development of his immediate community and state at large.

He prayed Allahu SWT to forgive the deceased of all his short comings and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.


Responding on behalf of the immediate family of the deceased, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Tafidan Kaura thanked Governor Bello Matawalle and his entourage for the condolence visits and prayed Allahu SWT to reward them abundantly.

During the condolence visit, special prayers were offered to seek for forgiveness from  Almighty Allah to the deceased as well as all our deceased parents and entire departed Muslim Ummah.

In the same vein Governor Bello Matawalle further visited a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Zurmi-Shinkafi federal constituency at his Hospital bed where he was admitted following injuries he sustained as a result of motor accident he was recently involved in.

He prayed Allahu SWT for his quick recovery.

Zamfara first lady urged women to register with APC

Women in Zamfara state have been advised to join their male counter part in the registeration of the   new All Prigressive Congress (APC) membership cards currently going in various local government areas of the state.

Wife of the Executive Governor and first lady of Zamfara state Hajiya Aishatu Muhammad Bello Matawalle made the called when she visited some Poling Units in different wards across the 14 local Government areas to supervise the ongoing new APC membership registration exercise going on in the areas.

.Addressing the members of the APC in all the Poling Units visit, Hajia Aisha Bello Matawalle explained that women have many roles to play during elections and therefore should not be left behind in the registration exercise  currently going on in their respective areas.

“As you are all aware, part  of our administration’s  commitments is to ensured that women in the state have achieved in terms of developmental programs”, she added.

The first lady who was represented by her Special Adviser, Hajiya Fatima Musa during the supervision of the exercise commended and further assured women government commitments to continue with various  programs under her office  that have  direct bearing to the welfare of women across the state.

Earliar in his remarks,  the Gusau local Government Council Secretary, Alhaji Nura Muhammad Musa described the program intiated by the first lady office for women empowerment had positively  touches the live of women in  nocks and crannies of the state.

While thanking the first lady for the sensitization tour to some Poling Units of the local government area, Alhaji Aliyu further  called on women in the area to come out and revalidates their APC registration cards currently going on in all most all the Poling Units in the local Government area.

Info. Commissioner commends Gov. Matawalle over reconstruction of Zamfara AM Radio

 Zamfara state commissioner of information Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara has commended
Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle for the immediate reconstruction and installations of state of arts equipments to Zamfara state AM Radio station which was burnt down in 2018.

The Commissioner of Information, Zamfara state, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara made the commendation while inspecting facilities put in place by the present administration at the state AM Radio station in Gusau, the state capital, as part of his familiarization visit of media outfits under the state ministry of information. 

“the immediate reconstruction of the AM station which was razed by fire in 2018 and abandoned by the previous government has demonstrated Governor Matawalle’s sense of responsibility, zeal, commitment and determination to move the information industry forward” he stated.

According to him with the present building structures constructed by the present government, the state AM Radio station would be more efficient and effective in discharging the responsibility of information dissemination across the state and beyond. 

While commending the staff and management of the station for their commitments to service, Hon. Dosara urged them to ensure maintenance culture in the utilisation of the new buildings and facilities provided by the government. 

“unless the buildings and facilities installed were fully protected and maintained, value for the money spent in the rehabilitation of the station would not be realised” he reiterated. 

On the issues of revenue, the Commissioner also urged the management of the Radio station to work hard towards improving  their revenue generation capacity to reduce the level of dependence on government for cash backing. 

He however stated that one of the cardinal objectives of establishing the new State Media Corporation by the present administration is to improve the revenue generation capacity of all the media industry in the state and make them independent.

He further mentioned that  the moment the new corporation takes off in no distant time, it would provide man power training and retraining of Staff for quality assurance in the production of news and programmes in all the six state owned media outlets.  

“a training school for all media workers would be established under the corporation for regular training and retraining to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of staff in all the state owned media organisations under the ministry of information” he said. 

He therefore, challenged the staff of the station to be computer literate, as required by the present scheme of media industry, giving them six months grace within which to learn how to manipulate computers to bridge the existing gap between them and their counterparts in the media industry.

Earlier in his speech the Acting Chairman of the station Alh Rufai Mohammed Anka commended the commissioner for the visit and the efforts of His Excellency Governor Bello Matawalle for the immediate renovations of the AM station which was almost off air before his taking over the affairs of the state.

Alhaji Rufa, assured the Commissioner of the Radio station’s total commitment to supporting Governor Matawalle’s efforts in tackling banditry and other criminal activities in the state by educating and enlightening the public on the numerous achievements and the development projects being executed in the state. 


The Commissioner was accompanied in the visit by the Permanent Secretary  of the Ministry Barr. Sani Nasarawa and other directors of the ministry.

SMEDAN to partner with Zamfara state in improving business activities

Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria ( SMEDAN) is to partner with Zamfara state government with a view to create a conducive environment for business activities in the state.

The Director General of the agency Dr. Umar Dikko Radda made this known when receiving Zamfara state Commissioner of commerce, Industry and Tourism, Hon Yazid Shehu Danfulani who was in his office in Abuja for a courtesy call recent.

Dr Radda who congratulated the new Commissioner for his resent appointment as member Zamfara state Executive council further assured his agency commitments to assist businessmen and enterpreneurs in order to boost business activities and engaged youth to be a self reliant on the state.

Earlier in his speech Hon. Yazid said he was in SMEDAN to seek for an avenue for Zamfara state enterpreneurs to benefit from the program already designed by the agency.

Hon. Danfulani informed the Director General that a comprehensive and workable frame work would be unveiled by his ministry to partner with agency in order to achieved the desired goals.

Commenting on the visits a business enterpreneurs in the state, Alhaji Garba Mai Bulo  Maru commended Hon. Yazid Danfulani for the visit and further stated that with state government partnership with agency like SMDAN the business activities would no doubt have based in the state.

Malam Garba further  prayed to Allah for the  successfull implementation of the programme in the state.

JYIO generates N3.7m. during Islamic calander launching in Zamfara.

Joint Youth Islamic Organization (JYIO) in Zamfara state has realised N3.7 million naira during the launching of this year’s Islamic calander 1443 A.H in a ceremony held in Gusau, the state capital. 

Announcing the amount realised the Chief Launcher of the new Islamic calander, Sanator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha said, His Excellency, Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle Maradun has bought one copy of the calendar at the rate of  one million naira, All Progressive Congress (APC) Care taker  committee members, 5 copies at the rate of one million.

Other who bought the calendar according to him also are the members of the Zamfara state House of Assembly who bought 24 copies at the cost of N500,000, Ministry for Local Government Affairs10 copies at the rate of N250,000.00 and Secretary to the State Government Hon. Kabiru Balarabe (Sardaunan Dan Isa) five copies at N250,000.00 respectively.

Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha (Jarman Gusau) while congratulating the entire Muslims ummah for witnessing the new Islamic year also directed the organizers of the celebrations to sale each copy of calander at rate of N500,00.00 this would give opportunity to other Muslims to obtain a copy of the calander.

Senator Hassan Nasiha further called on the Muslims ummah in the state to pray for the present administration of Dr Bello Matawalle in order to restore peace in the state.

Earliar during the ceremony, the Guest Speaker at the occasion, Dr Abdulmutalib Muhammad called for the unity of the Muslims ummah in the country and further stated that Prophet Muhammad with his companion deserve good recommendations from the Muslims ummah.

He however commended the state government for declaring a public holiday to mark this year’s Islamic calendar celebration and further advised for the improvement in Islamic shariah implementation in the state.

Zamfara Heads of Media condoles NUJ over the demised of late Munirat

Heads of Media Forum members in Zamfara state have described the death of Malam Muhammad Munirat Nasir, the Sun Newspaper corresponden in Zamfara state as a great loss not only to the family of the deceased but to the entire journalists in the state and nation at large.

The Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Aliyu Adamu Tsafe made this statement during a condolence visits to the members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Zamfara state at the Press Center, Sokot road Gusau.

Aliyu Adamu who is the current Managing Director, Gamji Television Gusau said  the forum members were at the press centre to register their condoles over the  demised of the Sun reporter,  according to him the forum members were shocked on hearing the demised of late Munirat Nasser.

While extending the forum members condolence to the family of the deceased, correspondents chapel and entire working journalists in Zamfara state, DanmadaminTsafe described late Munirat as gentle, competent and dedicated journalist who contributed immensely for the development of the state and journalism profession in general.

He prayed Allah SWT on behalf of the forum members to Grant the deceased with eternal rest and also give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

NIME, Kaduna Chapter honours Maj. General Victor others

The Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers Kaduna state chapter has presented a meritorious awards to the Commandant of the Nigerian Army Infantry, Major General Victor Okwudili Ezugwu and Engr. Jonathan Oladuni David, Chief Executive of Jod Partnership Nigeria Limited.

Presenting the awards to the recipients at a public lectures organised by the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Kaduna state chapter, titled “The Development of local content to Global Standard to National Development” the Chairman of the association, Engr. Christy Abraham said the recognition of the awardees was as a result of their numerous support given to the chapter and engineering business as well as local content development in the state.

Reciting the citation of Major General Victor Okwudili Ezugwu the Chairman noted that the military officer served and held positions in Nigerian Army at various capacities both within and outside the country.

“when he was in Defence Industries Corporation (DICON) as Director General he manufactured prototypes of Nigerian Army Infantry Patrol Vehicle’s, Nigerian Army Combat Vehicle, Nigerian Army light Tactical Tehicle and the first indigenous Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle ” he further informed.

Engr. Christy further stated the the other recipient of the award, Engr. Johnathan Oladuni David was the founder of Jod Partnership Ltd (Consulting Engineering Globally)he was recognised because of track records of consultancy on projects design, executed, supervised and commissioned in various sector of human endeavor.

According to him, Engr. Christy is presently a member of the National working Committee of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Chairman Technical Sub Committee on Mechanical and Electrical engineering service for all the services Engineers Consulting for National Defence College, Abuja.

In his acceptance speech on behalf of the awardees, the Commandant, Nigerian Army Infantry, Major General Ezugwu thanked the leadership of the association for the honored given to them and assured their commitments in making the country more greater.
