Zamafara Governor signs legislative, Judiciary bills into law

Zamafara state Governor, Hon. Bello Muhammad Matawalle has assented into law a bills for the autonomy of Zamafara state legislatives and Judiciaries.

In a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau by the Director General, Media, Public Enlightement and Communication office of the Executive Governor, Malam Yusuf Idris said the laws which was signed at a ceremony held at the Government House Gusau was as a result of the importance the executive governor attached to the two laws.

Signing the bills into law in the present of some gevernment officials, Governor Bello  said, as a true democrat, his government will continue to ensure that all statutory responsibilities are directed to the right channels in the state.

“I do not see any reason why we will not allow the autonomy of these two strong arms of government which will ensure the smooth running of government and the progress of our dear state” he stated.

” My administration would not politicize or joke with your responsibilities of funding and autonomy therefore, with this signing into law, it is my strong conviction that we will continue to work as partners for the growth and progress of our dear state and the good people of Zamfara,’ he noted.

While appealling to the beneficiaries of the law to guard against all forms of corrupt practises, Governor matawalle also enjoined them to weed out anyone found wanting in that direction.

Responding at the ceremony, Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Ma’azu Magarya commended the governor for maintening a cordial relationship with the legislature and judiciary, making the three arms of government a complete and responsible family.

Hon. Magarya assured that both the legislative and judicial arms of government in the state will continue to support the executive for the benefit of the state.

Zamfara assembly to gives much priorities to laws that brings religious harmony

Zamafara  State House of Assembly will continue to accord much priorities to laws that would bring harmony and religious understanding among the people of the state. 

Speaker, Rt Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of a 3 day consultative meeting for the House of Assembly members on domestication of Child Protection law in Zamfara state organised by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and that of Justice Ministry with support from UNICEF and Save the Children International held at Tahir Guest Palace Hotel in Kano, Kano state.

“more than any other time in the past, the present leadership of the House is poised to deliver its mandate given to it by the electorates through credible legislations and purposeful representation ” he stated. 

While commending the organisers for taken members of the assembly to Kano for a three day workshop on Child Protection bill, Speaker Magarya assured the international donor partners particularly Unicef and Save the Children International of full support of the House in many areas of needs for the to achieved their desire goals. 

He maintained that during the 2 years of his leadership, the House has passed over 32 bills into laws including the recently assented funds management laws of both legislatures and judiciary that will pave way for the implementation of financial autonomy of the two arms of government in the state. 

According to him the House is also currently working  on two private member bills sponsored by Hon Yusuf Alhassan kanoma on prohibition of hawking during school hours and encourage enrollment of girl child education as well as another bill seeking prohibition of all sorts of discrimination against persons with disabilities in the state all are geared towards the betterment of the people of the state. 

The Speaker enjoyed his colleagues and other participants to avail themselves with this rare opportunity of imminently resource personalities on the rudiments of the child protection law and benefits to the people of  state. 

In their separate remarks the zonal director of UNICEF in charge of Sokoto,Kebbi and Zamfara states Mr Pius Uwamanua and Programme Manager, Save the Children International, Zamfara state, Alhaji Murtala Bello praised members for attending the seminar and pledged his organisation’s support and continued corporation in passing the bill. 

They further that their organisations have been providing tremendous support to internally displaced persons (idp’s) in the state in addition to number of years of supporting pregnant women and children in different approach in the state. 

Director Albishir School advises parent to encourages their children’s to acquire education

Director, Albishir Orchard  Children School Gusau, Hajiya  Ubaida Shehu Faruk has described  education as the back born of development in any society.

Briefing newsmen during an exclusive interview in her office in Gusau, Hajiya Ubaida explained that, education being  a key to success therefore advised parents and guardian to always encourage their wards to acquire both western and Islamic  education. 

The Albishir Orchard Children School Gusau which was established in 2013 according to the director was started with only one student, however with the quality of services rendering now the school have over 200 pupils aquiring knowledge into two categories, western  and Islamic education provide by the school.

Hajiya Ubaida while commending the staff of the shool, parents and state Ministry of Education for their fatherly and professional advised to the school further advised parents and guardian to always send their children’s to school in the appropriate time.

Commenting on the security challenges facing the state, Hajia Ubaida however commended the state government for the measure taken in addressing the security challenges in schools across the state and further call on the general public  to continues to pray for peace and stability to reign in the state

Gov. El-Rufai order closures of some Schools in Kaduna

Governor Malam Nasir El-Rufa of Kaduna state has order the immediate closure of Secondary schools in some local government areas of the state.

In a statement issued to newsmen by  the Director General, Kaduna state Schools Quality Assurance Authority Umma K Ahmad noted that the decision to closed the schools was reached during a meeting held with the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS)and some key stakeholders in the state.

“Sequel to the information reaching the authority on the security threat at the Bethel Baptist High Kchool,where the attackers opened fire and overpowered security guards, stormed the school abducted 165 pupils  overnight, only 25 students escaped, and took away with 140 students, we have no option than to closed the affected schools” she stated.

The affected schools according to the statement were, Adventist College, Kujama.Good News Secondary School, Tulip International Boys and Girl’s Schools and Ibiso Secondary School Tashar Iche.

Others are Prelude Secondary School, Kujama, St. Peter’s Minor Seminary, Katari, Bethel Baptist High School, Damishi, ECWA Secondary School, Unguwar Make, Deeper Life Academy, Mararraban Rido and Faith Academy, along Kachia road adjacent Takaranda respectively.

Banditry: Gov. Matawalle promises to utilize digital emergency call centres to end insecurities

 Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state says his administration will utilise the three digital emergency call centres provided by the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to end  banditry activities in the state.

In a statement issued to newsmen  by the Director General, Media, Public Enlightement and Communication office of the Executive Governor Malam Yusuf Idris stated that the governor made this known today when he visited  the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy at his office in Abuja.

According to the statement Governor Bello said his administration is determined to utilise the digital emergency call centers to ensure that the purposes to which they were established are achieved.

” Technology plays a very vital role in securing societies globally and for this, my government has resolved to utilise all the centres constructed in the state in order to bring and end the banditry and other criminalities activities in the state” he explained.

He added that with  proper utilization of the new system, the country will return to its old glory of peaceful coexistence where every citizen will live peacefully with one another irrespective of tribe or region.  

While appreciated the minister’s digital support in the ongoing fight against banditry, kidnapping and cattle rustling, Givernor Bello however stated that the centres will in addition, create job opportunities to the teeming ICT application and design compliant youths throughout the state.

Responding, the Ministers of Communications and Digital Economy, Honourable Ali Isa Pantami said all the centres provided in Zamfara state are specially for security and employment purposes and that they will go into full operations very soon.

He commended the proactive posture of Governor Matawalle in tackling insecurity and the state government’s development drive of moving Zamfara state forward.

GM NTA Turbans Yariman Tsafe

Emir of Tsafe, “Yandoto Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Bawa has turbaned the General Manager, NTA Kaura-Namoda, Alhaji Sulaiman Aliyu Tsafe as the  second Yariman Tsafe.

Turbaning the new Yariman Tsafe at his Palace in Tsafe,  the Emir of Tsafe Yandoto Alhaji Muhammad Bawa said,  the tunbaning of Alhaji Sulaiman as new Yariman Tsafe Emirate was as a result of his commitment and dedication toward the development of the emirate.

While congratulating the turbaned officer, the emir urged him to always be respectable to elders and seek the new strategic that will promote the image of the emirate.

In his vote of thanks after the turbaning  the new Yariman Tsafe,  Alhaji Sulaiman Aliyu thanks the emir for giving him the mandate to serve his the emirate and assured his commitment for thedevelopment of the emirate and state at large.

Welfare of personnel is my priority – NSCDC boss

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) commandant in charge of Zone “m” that comprises, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara states, Mr. Sammani Mohammed Inuwa has said, welfare of personnel remains his top most priority in the Zone.

Mr Mohammad stated this at the Zamfara state NSCDC  command head quarter in Gusau while addressing peronnel during a one day official visit to the  state.

“We would not relent in our efforts to ensure that the staff welfare and other entitlement of our personnels are properly taken care off” he re-iterated.

The Zonal Commander therefore urged personnel to redouble their efforts in  discharging of their duty and further  said the service will not condone any act of lawlessness and indiscipline.

” I assured you that all your outstanding arrears and allowances will be settled within a short period of  time” he said.

 He however commended the Zamfara state Command for establishing a women response unit which is first of its kind in the zone and call on them to always put the job first than any other personal affairs. 

Responding, the Zamfara State Commandant, Mr. Akushie Athanasius applauded the Zonal commandant for the visit, describing it as a morale booster for the personnel.

He said the Zamfara state command is ever ready to effectively discharge its constitutional responsibilities especially on the ongoing fight against banditry and other criminal elements across the state.

Mr. Athanasius used the visit to thanked Zamfara state government for the cordial working relationship and assistance rendered to  the command for discharging their duty effectively

CHST Tsafe Alumni association set to celebrates college 20 years anniversary

College of Health Science and Technology, Tsafe Alumni Association has concluded all the necessary arrangements for celebrating 20 years anniversary of the College.

Speaking during a courtesy call to the management of the legacy in their office, the Ag. President of the association, Comrade Samaila Sani said the ceremony which is the first of it kind since the establishment of the College is expected to hold on September 13, 2021 at the college premises in Tsafe.

Comrade Samaila while inviting the graduates of the college and general public to attend the event further stated that the association has line up series of activities which includes, paper presentation, visitation to some important places and dinner for the invited guests.

He narrated that the College which was established 20 years back has graduated more than 40,000 students currently working in both government and privates health organisation across the country.

While commending  the management of the College for the support and encouragement they are always given to the alumni care takers committee of the association toward a successful hosting of the historic event, the acting President of the association called on all graduates of the college to register with the association for the objectives to be achieved.

“We noted that there were series of challenges in the college from inception to date and government alone can’t cater for all the challenges, the need for alumni members and stakeholders in health sector to come in and assist for the progress of the college is Paramount” he observed.

Comrade Samaila however commended Zamfara state government for it’s commitments in ensuring that all necessary needs for the college have been provided and further appeal for additional infrastructures, such as vehicles, male students hostel, class rooms and laboratories to be provided for condicive atmosphere for learning in the college.

Senator Nasiha to provides more projects in his constituency

The Senator Nasiha disclosed this while commissioning Ring road constructed by him at the Federal Medical Centre Gusau.

He explained that, the road constructed was because of the poor condition of the road to the hospital, assuring that, his office would continue to improve the lives of a command man,  calling on management and staffs of the hospital to utilize the road judiciously.

Senator Nasiha commended the state government under the leadership of governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, and management of the hospital for their contributions toward the success of road project advised them to keep it up.

Earliar in their remarks the Minister of Health, Dr, Alike, who was represented by the Dr, shehu sale and Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Bello Kwatarkwashi expressed happinessed over the construction of the Ring road in the hospitaland further commended the Senator Hasan Muhammad Nasiha for the kind gesture.

They however, appealed to the state government to provide ambulance and utility vehicles to the hospital for the smooth running of the hospital.

Zamfara Governor retains SA Security, dissolves all Special Advisers

  Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state  has announced the removal of all the Special Advisers serving in his government, except that of Security Matters.

Announcing the removal in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau by the Ag Secretary to State Government, Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe said the decision of the  relieved on duty of the affected officers was in line with the recent depection of Governor Bello Matawalle to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The statement further stated that the relieved of duty of the affected politicians would also allow for an in-depth search of more but competent hands in the administration of the state, irrespective of political affiliations. 

While thanking the affected politicians for their selfless service and contributions to the state, the statement however directed them to  hand over the affairs of their respective offices, and government properties under them to their Directors General or any senior accounting officers.
