Governor Dr Dauda Lawal Dare of Zamfara state has resolved to focus on the provisions of health care service, education, infrastructures, security, and jobs creation for the development of the state.

Dr Lawal Dare who was elected under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) made the declaration during the formal swearing in ceremony as 5th executive governor of Zamfara state held at Trade Fair complex, Bye pass road Gusau, the state capital.

Speaking after administering the oath of office from the state Chief Judge, Hajia Kulu Isah Aliyu, Governor Dauda Lawal Dare informed the people’s of the state that the present administration inherit empty state Treasury with liabilities worth hundred billions of naira from the former administration of Bello Matawalle.

 While commending the general public , particularly the women and youths for given him the madates to contribute his quota for the development of the state, Dr Dauda however called on general public to exercise patience and give him maximum cooperation for the desire objective to be achieved.

According to him with all the financial challenges facing the state, the present administration will do everything possible to ensure that youths are actively engaged in educational pursuits at primary up to the tertiary institutions adding that his administration will partner with federal government to eliminate the issues of banditry and other terrorism activities in the state.

“it is very easier to destroy, but it will take long time to revive, however with your prayers in Sha Allah we will succeed ” he noted.

He however appeals to the entire people’s of the state to continue to praying for the present administration to succeed.

In another development, Governor Dauda Lawal Dare has appointed Hon. Abubakar Nakwada and state People’s Democratic Party Acting Chairman, Hon. Mouktari Ahmad Lugga as Secretary to the state Government and Chief of Staff, Government House respectively.

Presenting the appointment documents to the appointees at a ceremony held at Government House Gusau, Governor Dauda Lawal Dare stated that their appointment was made based on their records of service and commitment to the development of their communities and state in general.

Zamfara Gov. elect inagurates 60 man c,ttee, urges for smooth take off.

The Chairman, Zamfara state 2023 PDP Transition Committee and former IGP Muhammad Dahiru Abubakar has been charged to ensure that his Committee members work assiduously to analyze the data received from the outgoing government for the smooth take off of the new government in the state comes May 29th, 2023.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the committee held at Garba Nadama Conference hall, JB Yakubu Secretariat Gusau Zamfara Governor elect, Dr Dauda Lawan Dare (Gamjin Gusau) while congratulating the appointees for their nomination into the committee urged them to have Zamfara people at the back of their mind and ensure that they justified the trust reposed in them 

“the committee will work on all the ministries, departments and parastatals of the state to get proper records and make recommendations on how to move forward with a view to rescue Zamfara state” he noted..Emphasising on the security of the state Dr Lawn Dare reiterated his administration willingness to work with competent people to ensure speedy development of the state in all ramifications. 

While commending the general public for the mandates given to him to serve the state, Zamfara governor elect however appealed to them to accord his administration all necessary support and cooperation to excel as the repairs, overhauling and other rectification process need time and patience to be achieved.

He announced that the sub committees has a 3 week timeline to present its interim report to the main committee which will in turn scrutinize it and present the final report before inauguration of the government.

Earliar in his welcome address Zamfara state  the deputy governor elect, Malam Mani Mummuni Nadama while congratulating the committee members for their appointment to serve in the committee stated that there appointment was based on integrity, track records of service and further assured that their findings and recommendations will be utilized accordingly.

In his acceptance speech, the chairman of the Main committee and former Insoector General of Police Muhammad Dahiru Abubakar (rtd) said “we accepted to work in the committee with all sense of responsibility, work to get facts and make implementable recommendations to rescue the state” and assured that all what is for Zamfara will be traced and returned to the coffers of the state.p

Eid al- Fitr: Zamfara Guber-elect urges to pray for peace to prevail

Zamfara state Governor elect, Dr Dauda Lawan Dare (Gamjin Gusau) urged the entire Muslims and good people of Zamfara to remain steadfast in prayers for peace to prevail in the State. 

In a Sallah message issued to newsmen by his media assistant, Suleiman Bala Idris, Dr Dauda Lawan Dare fecitates with Muslims ummah in the state over the successful completion of the one month long Ramadan fast.

He described the month of Ramadan as that of blessings and rewards saying that, the month was chosen by Allah (SWT) as the month of fasting and spiritual advancement and therefore urge Muslim to continue to pray for peace and development of Zamfara state.

“Allah answers prayers of His servants quickly especially during the month of Ramadan” he stated.

Dr Dauda Lawan Dare while felicitating  with the good people of Zamfara state on the auspicious occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, which marked the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan further reiterated that the period is a day to thank Allah (SWT) for allowing Muslims to observe Ramadan fast as one of the pillars of Islam enshrined in the Glorious Qur’an. 

“Our Dear State is in dire need of prayers and goodwill. We must be our brother’s keepers and be kind to one another. We must uphold the teachings of the Holy Month of Ramadan and imbibe them as we live together in peace and harmony” he reminded.

The Governor elect however, enjoined the Muslims faithful in the state to observed Eid- Fitr celebrations with utmost care and happiness.

KBSG flags off Contributory Health care scheme for civil servants

Kebbi State government has flagged off formal sector enrollment of civil servants into the State Contributory Healthcare Scheme for accessable healthcare services.

Flagging off the enrollment at the Gwadangaji Secretariat Complex, Birnin Kebbi, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensure quality accessiable healthcare services to all the  citizens in the state.

Governor Bagudu who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri commended the State Ministry of Health and Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency KECHEMA for working assiduously towards a successful implementation of the scheme. 

“The high cost of healthcare services and macro economic relatives have made quality healthcare service less affordable and accessable to low income earners which has exposed many people to financial hardship linked to paying for care” Governor Bagudu stated.

He called on the civil servants to use the opportunity to improve their health care seeking behaviours.

Earliar in his remarks, the Acting Head of Service, Kebbi state, Alhaji Sufiyanu Garba Bena explained that the benefits of the contributory healthcare to the civil servants and their families are enormous, saying apart from the improving easy and affordable access to health services, the quality of lives of the populace is expected to be improved.

“Public health management helps in putting resources to optimal use in services that deliver effective and equitable healthcare to the people. It is a speciality that covers administrative and managerial functions, organizational structures, and financial systems to enable improved health services” Bena stated.

According to him the target of 5 millon citizens of Kebbi State covering 21 Local Government areas will provide the much-needed pedestal for adequate healthcare coverage.

While commending the state government for initiating the programmes, the Head of Service called on civil servants to seize the opportunity to key into the scheme for improve health, through regular check up to avoid falling victims of opportunistic sicknesses such as High Blood Pressure which can lead to stroke and diabetes.

Bena however advised the staff of the Agency task with the responsibility of enrolling beneficiaries to be patient and exhibit sense of purpose in the discharge of their responsibilities.  

“I sought for the approval of His Excellency for the deduction of 3% of workers salary, as requested by the organized labour, to enable them enrol in the scheme, which he graciously granted. The formal flag off was done recently in my office to enable all civil servants enroll” Garba Bena averred.

Also in their separate remarks, the Commissioner Ministry of Health Hon. Jafaru Muhammad and Executive Secretary Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency Dr. Jafaru Augie emphasised that the importance of introducing the scheme in the state cannot be over emphasized as the rate of women delivering at the health facilities has increased from 8% to 22%.

They however commended the state government under the leadership of Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for its support towards the successful implementation of the scheme.

Zamfara state Governor-elect, Dr Dauda Lawal Dare ( Gamjin Gusau) has reiterated his administration commitment to give top priority to  security and agricultural for the development of the state.

Breafing newsmen after receiving his Certificate of Return as duly elected executive governor of Zamfara state at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) Gusau, Zamfara state, Dr Dauda Lawan Dare thanked people of Zamfara for given him the mandate to serve them and urged them to take advantage of the Holy month of Ramadan to pray for his incoming administration to succeed in bringing the desired developments which were packing in all sectors of the state.

 Dr Lawan Dare who expressed his utmost appreciation to the people of the state for coming in mass to votes him as number one citizen of the state further assured that their efforts would not be in vain as his administration would changes the narrative against the banditry that ravaged the state.

Earliar in his address, the representative of the National Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (inec) a Commissioner in charge of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states, professor Muhammad Kalla who presented the Certificate of Return to both Governor – elect, Dr Dauda Lawan Dare, his Deputy Malam Mani malam mumuni and 24 state House of Assembly members charged them to fear Allah in discharging their responsibilities.

Out of the 24 state House of Assembly members 17 were elected under the ruling party PDP while the remaining 7 members were from the APC respectively.

NSCDC records hitch – free Guber/ Assembly elections in Zamfara

Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) Commandant in Zamfara state, Muhammad Bello Muazu has described the success recorded by the command during the last Saturday, Governorship/state Assembly elections was as a result of the robust working synergy with the police and other security agencies in the state.

Speaking during the election monitoring held at the Sardauna Memorial Stadium, Sabon Gari Gusau polling units the NSCDC Commanda said voters have casts their votes in all the polling units and some part of Gusau metropolis devoid of fear or any rancor as normalcy was restored in almost all the troubled areas during the election exercise.

apart from high level of collaborations with other security agencies in the state, a distress calls center was also dedicated by the state command for prompt response to reported incidents” he added.

Elections: INEC distributes sensitive election materials in Kebbi-state

Kebbi state Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has distributed sensitive election materials for Governorship and state House of Assembly elections. 

Speaking to journalists during the distributions exercise held at the premises of the Birnin Kebbi branch of the Central Bank of Nigeria ( CBN), the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Bello Mahmud stated that, they were at the Central Bank to observe the election sensitive materials which includes, Ballot papers and result sheets, certify their completeness and above all to deploy them to the various local governments in the state.

Ahmad Mahmud stated that, the distribution of sensitive election materials has started with Kebbi-South Senatorial district followed by  Kebbi-North Senatorial district and lastly would ended with Kebbi Central Senatorial district respectively.

Already according to him, all non sensitive materials had been deployed to the respective local governments areas during the last presidential and national assembly elections held last month.

 While describing the security and logistics arrangement as impressive, the Resident Electoral Commissioner further stated that, arrangements have been concluded for the commission to organise a re-training exercise to Ad-hoc staff to brush up some challenges witnessed during the presidential and national assembly elections.

He however thanked all the securities and para- military agencies for their commitment for ensuring a smooth conduct of peaceful elections in the state

Intern.Women Day: Gov. Matawalle assures to assist women in Zamfara

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state administration has reiterated it’s commitment towards helping women in their struggle for the development of the  state.

Commissioner for Women and Children’s Affairs, Hajia Zainab Lawal Gummi stated this while addressing women making this year’s International Women’s Day celebrations with theme: “Digital Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality” held in Gusau, the state capital.

Hajia Zainab who described the event as historic further stated that “the Matawalle’s administration had been giving top priority attention to women for a long  period of time, especially the issue of childbirth and therefore reassured to continue for the betterment of the society.

The Women commissioner informed that, the use of mobile phones and internet connectivity have facilitated access to health information and services adding that the adoption of digital health and technology innovation has reasonably impacted electronic medical records, health data management security and effective communication between health workers, patients community and stakeholders.

While reiterating Matawalle’s administration in supporting women’s affairs especially the issue of childbirth and empowerment, Hajia Zainab however urged all women in the state to come out in large numbers on election day and cast their vote to Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle in order to continue enjoying the dividends of democracy.
