Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state has called on the newly sworn-in High Court Judges to take crucial decisions that will impact the lives of the people in the state.
Speaking during the official swearing in ceremony of the new High Court Judges and Special Advisers held at the Council Chamber, Government House Gusau, Governor Matawalle implored the new High Court Judges to play a critical role in upholding the constitution while protecting the rights of all citizens regardless of their status or background.
” One of the key responsibilities of the judiciary is to uphold the rule of law and further ensure that the rights of all citizens are protected” he remainded.
The appointments of the new High Court Judges according to him were based on the recommendations of the National Judicial Council as well as their unwavering commitment to the rule of law, track record of hard work, and qualifications for the prestigious position.
” in a democratic setting, judiciary is an essential branch of government that acts as checks and balances to ensure that justice is served” he stated.
While congratulating the newly sworn-in High Court Judges, Matawalle however expressed his administration’s commitment to support them in their endeavours and ensure that the judiciary in Zamfara state continues to deliver justice efficiently and fairly.
The four newly sworn-in High Court Judges are the Chief Registrar, Zamfara state Shari’a Court of Apeal, Abdullahi Muhammad Gusau Esq, Umar Abdul-Nasir Esq, Sa’ad Garba Gurbin Bore Esq and Muntaka Ahmed Ya’akub respectively.
In the same vein Governor Bello Matawalle also Sworn-in nine newly appointed Special Advisers as part of his administration routine of injecting the public service with fresh and capable hands to assist in effective service delivery.
Governor Matawalle informed that their appointment as Special Advisers was based on merit and further called on them to live by their oath of office and ensure equity and fair play in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He assured people of Zamfara state that his administration will not relent in its commitment and determination to achieve a lasting peace and promote the well-being of the people, pointing out that his government is determined to ensure peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections.
Those appointed and sworn-in as Special Advisers during the ceremony are, Hon. Sahabi Ahmad Mada, Hon. Shehu Garba Bungudu, Engr Nura Makwashi Maradun, Hon. Sani Galadi, Hon Kabiru S.Aski Gummi, Hon Lawal Marafa, Hon Dandare Dandakko, Hon Babangida Abdullahi, and Hon Ahmed Abubakar respectively.
