Speaking during the flagging off ceremony of the Zamfara West APC Governorship campaign rallies at the ancient city of Kaura Namoda, the Ex- Governor’s, Sen. Ahmad Sani Yarima Bakura and his couterpart Alhaji Mahmuda Aliyu Shikafi spoke on the need for continuity of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle so that all projects and programmes started can be completed and built upon. 

Earliar in his address to the Momo crawds the Chairman and Co-ordinator of the Campaign committee for the return of Hon. (Dr) Bello Mohammed in 2023 and immediate past Governor of Zamfara state, Hon. (Dr) Abdullaziz Yari Abubakar called for the total support and fight for the return of Matawalle to ensure sustenance of laudable developmental programs started across the state.

Hon. Abdul aziz who happens to be the APC Senatorial candidates for Zamfara north in the forthcoming elections further said “for the fisrt time, the entire political class of Zamfara state are now one”. 

While commending the organising committees for the event and APC stakeholders and members across the 14 local Government area for attending the campaign rallies flagging off, Hon. Abdu-aziz Yaro however advised them  against voting any political party other than the APC in state.

Addressing the mammoth supporters of the All Progressive Party in the state, Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle who expressed delighted over the number of APC stakeholders and members who attede the event and promised not to let them down if given the mandate. 

Matawalle who promised to carry all along in stearing the leadship of the state further assured to consolidate the peace in the state and spread the developmental projects across the communities in the state if elected for second term in office.

Emir of Gusau turbans Engr. Mustapha Musa as new Mayana Gusau

Emir of Gusau, HRH. Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Bello has turbans Engr. Mustapha Musa Mayana as the new Mayana of Mayana district of Gusau town, Zamfara state.

Speaking during the turbaning ceremony held at the Emir’s Palace Gusau, Sarkin Katsina Gusau while congratulating the new turbans district head of Mayana further described his appointment as well deserved considering his past records of service to his community, Gusau emirate and Zamfara state at large.

Sarkin Katsina Gusau while appealing to the new turbaned Mayana to work in unison with his people further assured Gusau emirate support and assistance for the development of the Mayana district and it’s counterpart to achieve the desired goals.

“As you are turbans today as the new district head of Mayana, am appealing to you to maintain your dignity and respect  we have on you and initiate a programmes that have direct bearing to your people” Sarkin Katsina Gusau advised.

Emir of Gusau however used the occasion to thanks the Executive Governor of Zamfara state Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle for his administration committement in addressing the security challenges facing the state and the assistance he has been given to traditional institutions in the state.

“the recent donations of new vehicles to emirs and district heads of all the Emirates across the state by the present administration has no doubt eased transportation problems initially faced by the institutions” emir stated.

Earliar speaking at his palace, the new Mayana of Gusau, Engr. Mustapha Musa Mayana expressed happiness to Zamfara state Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, emir of Gusau, HRH. Alhaji Ibrahim Bello and Gusau emirate for appointing him
and make this turbaning ceremony a reality.

Engr. Mustapha stated that, Mayana district is one of the largest district in the emirate and therefore promised to use his experience by involving all stake holders, politicians and top civil servants in the district in decision making for the development of the area, emirate and state at large.

“I will operate an open door policies to my people. My leadership will carry everyone to share ideas for the development of the district” he re-emphasized.

Engr. Mustapha Musa Mayana was recently appointed by the Gusau emirate Council after the demise of late Alhaji Mayana Makya who was the then district head of Mayana.

Before his appointment, the new Mayana who is a politician and sessional administrator was a former Gusau Local Government Chairman and also served as Special Adviser and Commissioner with Zamfara state government of the previous administrations.

2023 elections : Elect people of integrity- Ex- Deputy Gov urges electorates

Citizens across Nigeria have urged to elect people of proven integrity as their leaders in the forthcoming  2023 general elections.

Former Deputy Governor of Zamfara state, Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Wakkala made the call during a retreat organized by Zamfara Security Initiatives Project (ZAMSIPRO) held  at Taula Hotel, Gusau recently.

Sheikh Wakkala expressed concern over the acts of some unpatriotic politicians in the state, who despite the incessant killings of innocent citizens and destruction of property in communities, are just busy with their political activities.

“abandoning the Shari’a legal system implemented was the genesis of all obstacles in the state, saying that Sharia must be revisited for the better” he advised.

Earliar in his remarks Kaura Namoda /Birnin Magaji local government areas federal constituency’s APC aspirant in the forthcoming 2023 elections Hon. Dr. Aminu Sani Jaji, said Zamfara Security Initiatives Project is set to tackle the security and political crises that were militating against the progress of the state.

According to him one of the objectives of creating the forum was to assist the state government in tackling  security challenges.
He call on the general public particularly the politicians to support the activities of the forum in the state with a view to achieve the desired goals.

Responding on behalf of the traditional rulers, Emir of Anka and  Chairman,  Zamfara state Council of Chiefs, HRH Alh. Ahmad Attahru, said that  insecurity is characterized by injustice. 
” traditional institutions still have vital roles to play in moulding the society and the nation at large” the emir reiterated.

NBA awards Zamfara CJ six others

Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Zamfara state branch has honored Zamfara state Chief Judge, Hon. Kulu Isah Aliyu OFR and 6 other legal luminaries in the state with awards of Excellence.

Presenting the awards to the recipients during the closing ceremony of the association’s 2022 Law Week held at the Command Gusest House Gusau, the state capital, the leadership of the Association said the awardees were selected in recognitions of their selfless services and active roles they are playing in judicial services in the state and nation in general.

While commending the contributions of members of the Association for a succesful hosting of the 2022 NBA Week in the state, the leadership of the association further assured to continue to rewards members of the Association at all levels who excel in the profession as part of the moral to encourage them to serve more effectively.

Those who were awarded together with Zamfara CJ according to the leadership of the Association are Hon.Justice Mohammed Lawal Garba (JSC), a Justice of the Supremely  Court of Nigeria, and Hon. Abdulaziz Sani Muhammed (SAN) respectively.

Others are the Secretary of the ICPC, Prof.Musa Usman Abubakar, Shawa’anatu Muh’d Ahmad (Esq.), A.A. Jibrin (Esq.) and Kamaluddeen Muhammad (Esq.).

ZMSG distributes Bed linens to General hospitals in the state

In an effort to provide condusive atmosphere and effective healthcare service delivery, Zamfara state government has procured and distributed over 7,560 bed linens to all the General Hospitals across the state.

Speaking to newsmen in an exclusive interview in Gusau, the state capital, the Executive Chairman of the Zamfara state  Hospitals Services Management Board, Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed Anka said, the bed linens which was part of the present administration committement to improve the welfare of patient in various hospitals across the state consist of 2,280 pieces of bedsheets, 1,980 blankets and 3,300 pillows respectively.

The chairman while commending the state government to the procurement of the facilities and assistance given to the board however warned Medical Directors working with the  benefitting hospitals to ensure proper utilisation of the items given to them.

“The present administration of Governor Bello Matawalle is committed towards improving health care services delivery by providing infrastructures and welfare of personnel” he assured.

37th Quranic Recitation: PMB commends Gov. Bello Matawalle

President Muhammadu Buhari has commeded Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state for a successful hosting of the 37th annual National Qur’anic Recitation competition in the state.

Delivering message by the Minister of Communications, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami who represented Mr President at the closing ceremony of the competition held in Gusau, President Muhammad Buhari described the action of the Governor as indication of his zeal towards helping the society re-discover itself on self righteousness and acceptable co-existence as ordained by God.

Commending officials of the competition and general public for making this year’s annual event successful, President Buhari reiterated his administration determination in encouraging youth to acquire both Islamic and Western education for them to be useful to the society.

Earliar in his address, Governor Bello Mohammed described the hosting of the event as a milestone in the efforts at improving peace and tranquility in the state and its neighbouring environs.

“I thanked the Center for Islamic Studies of the Usmanu Dan Fodio University Sokoto for granting the hosting right of this year’s event to the state” he stated.

Governor Matawalle who promised to continue supporting the good teachings of Islam in order to improve the morality of the people to lead a meaningful life further mentioned that he administration will ever remain committed to issues related to Sharia legal system and the promotion of Islamic values across the state. 

” despite the enormous economic and security concerns, my administration has been up and doing in promoting the cause of Islam” he stated.

Highlighting some of the achievements his administration has recorded within the period under review, Governor Matawalle said “we have put an end to the sacrilegious practice of desecration of the Holy Qur’an; we have contributed N100,000,000 to the Izala Group for the establishment of an Islamic University in Shinkafi; we have hosted the annual maulud of Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass which draws participants from both within and outside the country; we have expanded the membership of the Ulama Consultative Council and built a befitting secretariat for the Council” the Governor recalled.

He however thanks the main organising committee under the leadership of the state deputy Governor, Sen. Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, Ulamas, participants and President Buhari for their committement in making the annual event successful.

At the end of the seven day event, Gwani Nura Abdullahi Bello from Sokoto state was announced as the overall winner for this year’s senior category of the  competition on the male side while the female side was won by Aisha Abdulhamid from Yobe state and presented with two cars donation from the Zamfara state government and President Muhammadu Buhari respectively.

“Second and thiird position holders will be sponsored to the next years Hajj in Saudi Arabia by the state Government” announced by the committee.

Other Winners of the remaining categories in the competition will have a standard lap-top computer from the President, as announced by the Communications Minister, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami.

Gov . Matawalle commiserate with families and victims of collateral damage in Malele

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara state has expressed his heart felt sympathy to the families of victims  earlier caught in military fire against marauding bandits in Maru Local Government area of the state.

The sympathy message was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital by the Special Adviser to Governor on Public Enlightenment, Media and communication, Mallam Zailani Bappa today Tuesday, 29th December, 2022.

Governor who was saddened to hear the latest development when the Nigeria Airforce according to the statement was out to eliminate a marauding group of bandits which, unfortunately, caught a number of civilians leaving behind a mixture of casualties involving both the bandits and a number of civilians.

“This unfortunate incident has come at a time when both the state Government and the Nigeria Military are poised to effectively end the menace of the bandits, especially by taking the fight to their enclaves”, Governor Matawalle noted.

While extending Zamfara state people and his sincere sympathy to those who were injured and the families of those who died as a result of this collateral damage Governor stated that alrwdy the state Government has swung into action to address the remote and immediate causes of the incident with aim of averting any further ugly incidence such as this one in the future.

On Sunday last week, bandits riding motorcycles invaded Mutunji and Malele communities in Dansadau emirate of Maru local government area and military airstrikes aimed at neutralizing them had mistakenly kill soldiers and many villagers with over 70 villagers sustaining various degrees of injuries.

Coy. to delivers 50 housing unit in Kebbi next month- MD

The Managing Director, Abisiyya Group Nig. Limited, Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Ango has assured to complete and deliver the 50 housing units at Bagudu Housing Estate in Birnin Kebbi by next month.

Speaking with newsmen at the construction site in Birnin Kebbi, the Managing Director of the firm stated that the contract which covers; constructions of road, housing, drainage and colverts is awarded in partnership with Kebbi state Government and Family Home with a view to providing shelter to the people of the state.

We thank Almighty God for the opportunity given to us, the project has reached advanced stage of completion, insha-Allah, by next month we are going to complete and handover the project” Ango informed.

Already according to him Albissiya Group Nigeria Limited has put in place all the necessary working materials for the completion of the 50 Housing Units.

While commending the Kebbi state government as well as Family Home for finding them worthy to execute the project in addition to their prompt response when the need arises, the Managing Director further reiterated his company committement in ensuring a speedy completion of the project.

Gov. Zulum declares open 37th National Quranic Recitation in Zamfara

Borno state Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has declared open a seven day National Quranic Recitation competition in Zamfara state organised annually by the Centre for Islamic Studies, Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto.

Delivering his address during the opening cerey of the event held at the Trade Fair Complex Bye-pass road Gusau, Governor Zullum, described the efforts of Zamfara State Governor in hosting this year’s competition in spite of biting economic reality, as a very commendable one.

He extolled the good virtues of the Governor whom he said deserved the title he bears, “Khadimul Quran”.  “The sheer drive towards  enduring efforts done to promote the Quran among the youth is an indication that the state Governor’s committment to the Government and people if Zamfara State to the wellbeing of the society is not in doubt”.

Governor Zullum who announced the donation of N10 million for the successful conducct of the event further believes that the meriad of challenges facing the country today can be eased if everyone embrace the power of the Quran.

In his  remark at the ceremony, Zamfara state Governor Hon. (Dr) Bello Mohammed Matawalle outlined the importance of the competition which he said include the translation of the words of Allah into practice.

“the importance of the Quran in our lives and the guidance it serves are the major take-aways we should expect from the conduct of the event and thereafter” Matawalle stated. 

He however commended the Local Organising Committee under the Chairmanship of Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha the state Deputy Governor for a well organised event and called on the participants not to see the competition as an affront to one another but as a service to humanity.

In the same vein, the Vice Chancellor of Usman Dan Fodio University Sokoto, Professor Bilbis commended Zamfara state government for hosting this year’s competition which he said is an indication of the readiness of the state to continue uplifting the status of the book of Allah.

Professor Bilbis further called on competitors at all levels to consider their participation as a contribution to the promotion of the virtue of the Quran.

Also speaking during the ceremony, the Shehu of Borno, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi who is Royal father of the event described the annual Quranic Recitation compettion as a unifying factor among Nigerian Muslims.

While commending the state government for hosting the event, Shehu of Borno however  called on Muslims, beyond the recitation to apply the teachings of the Quran in their daily lives.

ZMSG set to host 37th National Annual Quranic Recitation Competition

Zamfara state government has concluded arrangements for the opening ceremony of the 37 National Annual Quranic Recitation competition Tagged : “ZAMFARA 2022/1444AH” organised by the Center for Islamic Studies of the Usmanu Dan Fodio University Sokoto.

Briefing Journalists in Gusau, the state capital, the Chairman, Publicity Sub- Committee of the competition and Commissioner of Information, Zamfara state, Hon. Ibrahim Magaji Dosara said all the structures for the smooth opening ceremony scheduled to officially flagged off tomorrow Friday, 16th December, 2022 at the Trade Fair Complex, Eastern bye-pass Gusau have been put in place..

The Quranic Recitation Competition according to the chairman which is organise annually where young men and women who are versed in the memorisation and correct recitation of of the Holy Quran are brought together from all the states of the federation and FCT to display their talents expected to end on 24th December 2022.

He informed that only youngmen and women of 25 years and below are eligible to participate into the six categories of the competitions where Winners of the two out of these six categories will represent the country in the annual King Abdulazeez Quranic Recitation competition to be held in Saudi Arabia early next year.

He reminded that Zamfara state been the first in the adoption of complete Sharia code for the Judicial system and general way of life said government has always been in the forefront in its support to Islamic culture which is unequivocally the way of life.

“the present administration of His Excellency, Dr Bello Mohammed (Matawallen Maradun) has done a lot in ensuring that people in the state live a clean way of life as enshrined in the Islamic code and this is another opportunity for the Government and people of Zamfara state to prove its lead as number one Sharia State in Nigeria” he challenged.

He maintained that the administration of Khadimul Quran is yet taking another bold step to serve the Holy Quran meritoriously and officially invite the entire working journalists in the state to be part of the historical event.

While calling on all citizens of Zamfara state not to be left out in earning the benefits of abundant reward from the Almighty God as they support this laudable programme, Hon Dosara further said this one week long event will be a test of our hospitality to the young men and women of God from across Nigeria and also to their accompanying tutors.
