Zamfara West APC Senatorial candidate and former Governor of the state Hon.(Dr) Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar (Shattima Zamfara) has distanced himself from any plan against the victory of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle in the forthcoming 2023 election in the state.

Speaking during the flagging-off ceremony of his Senatorial campaign at his home town in Talata Mafara, Dr Abdu aziz Yari while commending the organizers of the event and APC supporters across the state for the warmly reception accorded to him advised them to came out massively and votes all APC candidates right from the presidential in down to the wards councilors in 2023 election in the state.

“contrary to speculations being peddled by some unpatriotic members of the party, l,m categorically inform you that, I had never directed anyone to work against APC candidates vying for various positions across the state” he reemphasized.

While appealling to his supporters to vote for the incumbent Governor Bello Mohammed Matawale Maradun of the state to continue with good work he had started that have direct bearing on the common man, Dr Shattima Zamfara however urged supporters and faithful members of APC in the state to remain law abiding citizen and eschew any acts capable of cousing havoc during election and campaign.

Ex- Governor Yari who is the senatorial candidate of APC in Zamfara west senatorial district which comprises six local government areas namely, Anka, Maradun, Bukkuyyum, Gummi, Bakura, and Talata Mafara respectively has emphasized that APC in Zamfara state is united and one big family.

He assured the leadership of the APC in the state his supporters commitment in ensuring that people in the zone were fully enlighten on the importance of voting all APC candidates in the state.

Those who graced the occasion includes, former Governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, former Deputy Governor Alhaji Mukhtar Ahmad Anka, and former minister, Alhaji Tujjani Yahaya Kaura and top politicians among others.

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara state has described the emergence of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Kigon Gusau as the National President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as a great omen to the football family and nation in general.

Speaking after receiving the Torch of Unity in preparation for the forthcoming 21st Edition of the of National Sports Festival tagged, “DELTA 2022″at the Government House, Gusau, Governor Matawalle while welcoming the officials of the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development to the state further informed his government committement to give the illustrious son of the state all the necessary supports to succeed.

He commended the effort of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Delta state and the various Committees constituted for their commitment towards ensuring the successful hosting of the festival and assured his Administration’s commitment to the development of Sports in Zamfara state.

Earliar in his remark, the representative of the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development, who is also the Northwest Zonal Coordinator of Youths and Sports Development Muhammad Kabir Datti told Governor that the Torch of Unity movement symbolizes the participation of the state at the forthcoming National Sports Festival slated to commence on the 28th November, to 10th December 2022 in Asaba, Delta state.

Already according to the Special Adviser to Governor Matawalle on Sports Development, Alhaji Habibi Yuguda the state state has completed all the necessary arrangements to participate in the tournament.

He assured the state government his athletes determination to bring glory to the state at the end of the festival.

ZMHA confirms Mr Mammaga as new LG Auditor General

Zamfara state House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the appointment of Malam Aminu Mammaga as Auditor General of the Local Governments Audit, Zamfara state. 

Presenting the request to the house, Deputy Leader of the house Hon. Nasiru Bello Lawal Bungudu called on his colleague to receive the nomination, screen and confirm Malam Aminu Mammaga to serve as Auditor General of the Local Governments Audit.

Responding to the request, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Musa Bawa Musa Yankuzo who chaired the plenary reads the communication letter received from the office of the Secretary to the State Government requesting the house to consider, screen and approve the appointment of Malan Aminu Mammaga as the Auditor General for Local Governments Audit.

In a statement issued to newsmen by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Zamfara state House of Assembly, Malam Nasir Usman Biya Biki said after extensive deliberations on the nominee CV the house unanimously confirmed his appointment.

“as a competent officer to hold the position and with the unanimous consent of our members after extensive deliberation and due considerations we confirmed his appointment to serve as the Auditor General for Local Governments Audit” deputy Speaker announced.

In another development, a bill for a law to provide for the establishment and management of Zamfara State Mass Transit Authority has been passed into law.

It could be recall that the bill after scaling through the second reading was referred to the House Committee on Works and Transport for scrutiny and public input after which it will be presented to the house for further actions.

After presentingthe report to the house, the committee Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Muhammad Anka appealed to his colleagues to accept the committee’s recommendations and pass it into law. 

The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Musa Bawa Musa Yankuzo however directed the Clerk of the house Alh. Shehu Sa’idu Anka to read the bill for the third time and the bill was later passed into law waiting for the State Executive Governor to assent it.

CP Kolo assesses security situation in Gusau – Futua road.

In an efforts to addressed security challenges facing some part of Zamfara state, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Kolo Yusuf has patrolled Gusau – “Yandoto Daji – Tsafe – Funtua road to assess the security situation in the high way.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, by the Command Public Relations Officer, SP Mohammed Shehu ANIPR said CP Kolo in accompanied of some senior police officers of the command was in the area to supervise some strategic points on the route where he directed for the immediate deployment of additional  Operational Police Tactical Squads to ensure the safety of commuters flying along the route.

” We have mapped out some salient and strategic locations along the road which were instantly fortified with the deployment of Police Tactical Operatives drawn from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), and Anti Violence Squad of the Command to arrest the situation” CP Kolo informed.

During the visit according to the statement, CP Kolo Yusuf also visited “Yandoto Daji Divisional Police Headquarters and Police operatives deployed along “Yandoto –  Mada road where he commended their resilience in safeguarding the communities in the area and employ them to be more alive to their duty.

While commending the entire communities in the area for their supports to security agencies in tackling banditry and other crimes in the area, CP  Kolo however assured them his command collaboration with other security agencies to restore normalcy in area and Zamfara state in general.

Maulud: ZMSG donates cows, foodstuffs to Zawiyya Islamiyya Schools

Briefing our reporter in his office on the state government committement for this year’s Maulud celebrations the state Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr Tukur Sani Jangebe informed that already government has identified centres across the state for distributions of the items in order to celebrate this year’s Maulud with ease.

Dr Jangebe who was represented during the interview by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Barr. Sani Nasarawa disclosed that the gesture was part of Governor Bello Matawalle’s administration committement towards assisting muslim ummah in the state to perform this year’s Maulid Nabiyu SAW with happiness.

“it is annual traditions, the state government usually distributes commidites to religious organization for them to conduct their maulid successfully” he maintained.

According to him each Zawiyya Islamiyya school selected has benefitted with 1 cow and 2 bags of rice across the state with exception of Zawiyya Sheikh Balarabe Gusau that benefitted with 2 cows and 4 bags of rice respectively.

Commending the state government for the wonderful gesture to the Islamiyya schools  and it’s commitment towards the development of Islamic religious in the state Dr Tukur Sani Jangebe however call on the beneficiaries to use the period and pray for peace and insecurity in the state.

He informed that Zamfara state government has taken the issues of Women and girl child education with seriousness.
According to him as part of the efforts carry women along the present government has appointed three Women as Commissioners, six Special Advisers and several Directors-General and Senior Special and Special Assistants respectively.

Former Chairman, Zamfara state Football Association and newly elected President, Nigeria Football Federation NFF, Ibrahim Musa Gusau ( Kigon Gusau) has pledged to run inclusive administration where all stakeholders will be allow to contributes on the best way to improve the game of football in the country.

Speaking during a reception organised in his honour by the Zamfara state Football Association FA to welcome him to Gusau after his election as President, Nigeria Football Federation at Command Guest House Gusau, the first Kigon Gusau while reiterating his commitment in developing grassroot football at all levels said the administration of football requires the wisdom to be able to listen to every one who has the knowledge to deal with situations.

“My leadership will concentrate much on youth and grassroots football development with a view to produce a young talented players that can make this country proud in both local and international tournaments” he informed.

Reacting on the current domestic leagues in the country, the NFF President stated that his new leadership is committed to ensure that the country’s domestic leagues is resuscitated within a short time.

“It is very important to resuscitate the league and engender a massive football economy from which every stakeholder can benefit and also be happy to contribute to it’s growth” he emphasized.

Kigon Gusau who served as two terms Chairman of Chairmen in the past NFF administration, member of the Organising Committee for the African Nations Championship and currently member of the CAF organising committee for youth competitions further promised to work in unison with all his new board members in discharging his responsibility.

While appealing to football family in the country for their prayers and support, Ibrahim Musa Gusau also assured to focus on youth development and welfare of players of the various national teams with a view to motive them to contribute at both national and international completions.

He however expressed happiness over the warm reception accorded to him by the Zamfara state government, HRH. the Emir of Gusau, Ibrahim Bello, football Associations fans, friends and well wishers in Gusau and beyond for their prayers and love they have shown to him throughout the period of contest and promised to run an inclusive administration in which ideas and advice will be welcome from all quarters.

Over one hundred and seventy thousand (170) trailers of food items have been distributed to over thirty eight thousands less privilege across the 14 local government areas of Zamfara state in 2021.

Zamfara state Commissioner of Humanitarians, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hon.Fa’ika Ahmad made this known in an exclusive interview with newsmen in Kaduna recently.

According to her some of the reliefs materials distributed to the needies includes; rice, sugar, milk, semovita mattresses and blandkets in addition to the empowerment programs established that provides a sustainable item’s for the IDPs to encourage them to stand on their feet by providing them with sewing machines, tricycles Keke Napep and generator’s for small scale businesses order to be self reliant.

Hon Faika stated that her organisation which was ealier emerged as the directorate was later upgraded to a ministry by the present government of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle in 2019.

From inception of the ministry to date we have contributed a lot in carrying out livelihood programs that have direct bearing to a common man and training and re- training of our staffs to ensure that we builds capacity for proper service delivery” she stated.

Hon. Fa,ika  maintained that her Ministry during the period under review had achieved a lot particularly on emergency supports through the ministry Desk’s Officer attached to all the 14 local government areas of the state.

The commissioner while commending the international donor agencies particularly the Safe the Children organization for their partnership and supports to the ministry further assured  that her office is committed in ensuring that the gesture reaches all cronnies of the state.

She however calls on the general public in Zamfara state to always support all government Programmes and policies for the desired goals to be achieved.

Hon. Faruk Dosara present bills to establish new agencies

House leader Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Faruk Musa Dosara has presented a bills for the establishments of Zamfara State Directorate of Investment and Busseness Development and Zamfara State Directorate of Public Private Pertinership and Enhance Infrastructure and Service Development for other matters connected therewith 2022 for deliberations and passage into law.

Presenting the two bills before the house, Hon. Faruku Dosara appealed to members to receive the bill and give it first and second reading respectively.

Receiving the bills during the house preliminary seating, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Muázu Magarya directed the Clerk of the house to read the bills for the first and second reading and further referred it to the House Committee on Commerce and Industries for scrutiny and given them three weeks within which to report to the house for further legislative processes.

In a related development, a member representing Maru North Constituency, Hon. Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma has presented a request for second reading of a Private bill for a law to provide the establishment of the Zamfara State Transport Authority which was seconded by Hon. Zaharadden Muhammad Sada. 

Presenting the request, Hon. Kanoma stressed the importance of the bill in regulating the activities of the agency and called on the entire members to accept the bill for the second reading and refer it to an appropriate committee for further actions.

Deliberating on the issue, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Muázu Magarya informed that the bill has already referred to the House Committee on Works and Transport and further directed them to engage all key stakeholders to have their input and bring back the report to the house in one Month time.

While commending the House of Assembly members for their committement and zeal to work for the development of the state, Rt. Hon Magarya call on the general public to always support government programmes and policies.
